Of the approximate 70 postcards (1905 thru 1952) seen, most are of The Oaks Amusement Park.
Postcards were a popular souvenirs during a time when very few people owned cameras.
Those of The Oaks include the boardwalk (midway), park interior, water walkway, Oaks Tavern, Chutes the Chutes, and Natatorium.
Others are of the Bollinger family, employees of Oaks; a lumber mill (located on the Willamette River) that might be the one that was South of The Oaks; fun cards of people running, posed with carousel animals, driving touring car; the Western Washington Fair in Puyallup, WA; Oregon Yacht Club.
The Oregon Yacht Club and Oaks are neighbors. During one bad winter, the homes in the yacht club were in danger of sinking due to snow build-up on their roofs. Some of the residents went to borrow tools from The Oaks. To their delight, employees came with the tools.
Background fun music includes Johnny B Goode, Undecided and Old Time Rock-N-Roll by Nick Viscuso.
